Yes. Ecoleaf Energy is registered with NAPIT, a government-approved competent person scheme for electrical work. This means every installation we complete is automatically notified to your local building control authority, and you receive a full electrical installation certificate.

What is Part P?

Accepted Answer

Part P of the Building Regulations covers electrical safety in dwellings. Certain types of electrical work — including new circuits, consumer unit changes, and work in bathrooms and kitchens — must be carried out by a registered competent person (like NAPIT) or inspected by building control. All our notifiable work is automatically registered through NAPIT.

Do you provide certificates?

Yes. Every notifiable installation receives a full electrical installation certificate, registered with NAPIT and automatically notified to your local building control. For EICR inspections, you receive a detailed condition report within 24 hours.

What guarantee do you offer?

All our work comes with a minimum 12-month workmanship guarantee. For larger installations including rewires, consumer units, and renewable energy systems, we provide a 6-year workmanship guarantee. Manufacturer warranties apply additionally to all products and components.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer, debit and credit cards, and cash. For larger projects, we typically require a small deposit on acceptance of the quote, with the balance due on satisfactory completion. Finance is available for eligible projects.

What's the difference between an RCD and an RCBO?

Accepted Answer

An RCD (Residual Current Device) protects against earth faults and electric shock, but it covers multiple circuits at once — so a fault on one circuit can trip everything on that RCD, cutting power to half your house. An RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent protection) combines RCD protection with an MCB for a single circuit, meaning only the affected circuit trips. We recommend RCBO-equipped consumer units for the best protection and minimal nuisance tripping.
